A night acoustic listening pilot carried out on part of the İsmetpaşa, Cevat Paşa, Namık Kemal, M. Kemal and Fevzipaşa neighbourhoods of the central drinking-water network.

Why it matters
The number of finds did not fall — it rose, even on the lower-distance nights. This shows the area is not saturated; yield rose as the crew learned the network and the field behaviour. If the work is stopped, that learning curve and field knowledge are lost.

If the 22 leaks found in these 4 nights alone are not repaired, on an assumption of 0.10–0.25 L/s per leak the annual loss is of the order of 69,000–173,000 m³; at ₺20/m³ that corresponds to ₺1.4–3.5 million of preventable loss a year.
