Field work to locate water leaks on the drinking-water network of the city of Beira, Mozambique; applying the acoustic method in a hot climate and different infrastructure conditions.

The work
Suspect zones on the Beira network were surveyed by acoustic listening and flow measurement; working with the local team, the detection and recording method was transferred.

Water-loss management is a universal engineering problem; the method and equipment can be adapted to different climate and infrastructure conditions.
