Water-loss detection and reduction on the Doğubayazıt drinking-water network with a district metered area approach; flow measurement, acoustic listening and repair follow-up.

The work
The network was divided into measurable zones; by monitoring each zone's minimum night flow, the mains with heavy loss were identified. Leak points were then located on those mains by acoustic listening.
Repair follow-up
The finds were passed to the municipality's repair crews; the cycle was closed with a post-repair check listen.
