12 DMA zones, loss rate from 55% to 25%.
To reduce water losses in the central district of Sivas, District Metered Areas (DMAs) and a central monitoring system were commissioned.

The challenge
The city-wide water-loss rate was above 55% and there was no zonal monitoring infrastructure; it was not known where the loss occurred.
The solution
12 DMA zones were designed and installed. Flow and pressure measurement devices were placed in each zone. A central monitoring system provided minimum night flow tracking and anomaly alerts.
Results
- 12 DMA zones installed,
- water-loss rate cut from 55% to 25%,
- 24/7 remote monitoring commissioned,
- repair priorities clarified through zone-based intervention.

Confirming a located leak by excavation
Project summary; exact rates are verified with the utility's water balance records.
Result
A DMA makes the loss visible.
Without district metered areas, loss is only estimated. With a DMA, each zone's night flow is measured; intervention starts with the zone that leaks the most.
